Chinese New Year is celebrated as one of the most spectacular events in the city of London. The celebrations are accompanied with enormous dancing puppets, display of martial arts and incredible food in plenty. Each year the celebrations come over in ascending extravagance and attract huge crowds thereby. Also known as the Year of the Tiger, it is falling on 14th February 2010 but London will be celebrating it on 21st February. The main event is be hosted by Westminster in London. The Trafalgar Square is all lit with stalls, traditional performances and dragon and lion dances.
This year the show will again come with a big bang offering live performances by Chinese artists, as well as dancers. The central part of London will be enlightened with the culture of China in the New Year celebration in their way.
A colorful spectacle will pamper the celebrators of the occasion with Chinese dragons, acrobats and lions dance with their stunning performances. A savor of Chinese culture will be offered by the ethnic songs.
There will also be cultural displays of lion dance along with the typical Chinese food at specially decorated Chinatown. Last year celebrations showcased the talents of local Chinese artists and made Honk Kong out of the Shaftesbury Avenue. So, the visitors this time can expect and look out for the similar or even more ecstatic displays of cultural diversity in 2010.
Grand Finale of the Chinese New Year 2009 also brought along free fireworks at Leicester Square. So, you can expect the same this time as well. You may also find the prestigious Westminster Hotels to join in the celebrations of this gala event.
