The 29th annual charity Christmas pudding race is back again during this festive season and is one of the most unusual Christmas treats for Londoners. The race will start at 11.30 am in Covent Garden Market. This is a charity event which is organized by CRAC on behalf of Cancer Research UK. In this event the runners participate in the pudding race while dressed up in fancy costumes. This is a fun relay race where the teams tackle unusual obstacles while carrying a Christmas pudding on a tray. Many observers lined up during this great celebration which is done to raise money for charity. Other than these racers there are well-loved street performers who will be entertaining the audiences before and after the race.
As far as the spectators and participants are concerned, a huge crowd is gathered every year to cheer up the participants as about 150 contestants participate in the event. Since 1980, this race has been going every year without fail. This is a perfect way to break the monotony of Christmas shopping at the Covent Garden.
How to Participate: If you and your family are interested in participating for this great charity event, then you can do so as every band of 6 members must schedule with Helena Marks at the below mentioned address: Helena Marks, 40 Brockley Avenue, Stanmore, HA7 4LT. A registration fee of £25.00 per person is applicable for participating in the event and the runners are anticipated to raise a minimum amount in funding of £600 as £100 per person.
This is the best thing to do in London during this festive season, so throng the venue of Covent Garden Market this Christmas.
